After weeks of waiting, Seasun has finally announced the long-awaited buffs for Fritia - Turbo on CN socials. They're uh, certainly buffs.
Buff Details
- The auto-aim provided by Fritia's standard skill will be improved to better prioritize available weak spots.
- The AoE range of Fritia's ultimate skill will be buffed to always be equal to the current maximum range when using her ult with maximum Supercharge stacks.
- The animation of her standard skill will be slightly sped up by removing the step back from the skill animation, instead immediately squatting down to enter firing mode. This change will be added in a later update from the first two.
Analysis
Wow, these buffs suck. Improving her auto-aim is essentially a glorified bugfix, buffing her ult range to be static doesn't change much because you'll probably still want to ult with max stacks for the damage boost, and the skill animation speedup is... technically a DPS buff, I guess?
These changes don't fix any of Fritia's fundamental issues. She's still bound to her event and gacha weapons for improved stamina sustain, and still requires her gacha weapon if she wants to be able to fully keep up her damage rotation. She still has incredibly long downtime between her DPS windows, and still has very little flexibility in her damage rotation.
To have taken almost an entire month to collect feedback from people (including reaching out and asking me for suggestions) and come up with ideas, and then only announce this pity party of a change list, is nothing short of highly disappointing. Maybe even a little insulting.
Let's hope that this is just the first set of changes that they have planned and that a second batch of more meaningful buffs gets announced soon. And if not... my condolences to all of the Fritia fans out there. You deserved better.
